20 Time update 02

Last week I was unable to work on my 20 Time project due to my more pressing duties as an editor of the school newspaper.
This week I added a new section of road to the street (which took a lot more alignment than I thought it would).  In order to get the pieces to align, I had to adjust and remove a few modifiers, which isn't the worst thing in the world but is still mildly frustrating.  However, I did learn about how to use the Array and Mirror modifiers in conjunction because of it; next week I'll be texturing more buildings and adding extra lights.

20 Time update 01

My 20 Time project is an ongoing effort at completely retexturing and recoloring a model of a futuristic city street that a member of my project made.  This week was mostly a lot of rendering and planning as I tried to figure out what still needed to be done, as the model is quite large and complex.  Texturing something this big is always time-consuming because - seeing as I don't own a supercomputer - the images tend to take a while to render and it's not exactly a step that I can skip.  I'm planning on starting the next set of buildings come next week, and after that I'll move to the "ground" of the street.

My 20 Time idea

The scope of my 20 Time idea is a bit smaller than last year; I'm planning on working on a single large model this trimester.  You might recall the model of the city that I was coloring and texturing last year - that model remains unfinished, and it'll probably stay that way unless I seriously allot some time to work on it.  20 Time is the perfect opportunity to finish it, considering that it's challenging in both scale and complexity, not to mention the level of realism that I'm aiming for.
